ALDEBURGH in Suffolk is situated about 100 miles to the northeast of London on the beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coast. Until the middle of the 19th century Aldeburgh was a fishing town but the coming of the railway in the mid 1860's opened it up to discerning Victorian holiday makers. Aldeburgh has retained much of its' original building and its' seaside charm; while the wide High Street has remained almost unchanged by time. In the summer Aldeburgh provides a taste of the past, with Ice cream and fish and chips on the beach, and perhaps a film if the weather is inclement.

In more recent years, Aldeburgh has become synonimous with the International Music Festival in June founded by Benjamin Britton. There are concerts and exhibitions both in Aldeburgh and at the Snape Maltings concert hall which is an easy short drive.
